I had this module a long time ago, when I was 13 years old, am 29 this year, and it is one module I will never forget! I am going to be looking high and low for this one and if I can get my hands on it I will buy it. It is a classic that can be easily converted into 2nd or even 3rd Edition format. A fun module for thinking and problem solving players. There is enough fighting for the hack and slash players but it is overall a thinking game. Sci-fi inclined players should enjoy this one.

They Called 'Em "Modules" Back Then, Son,

Truly great classic adventure. The PCs explore a downed spacecraft (oops, they shouldn't know that!). This comes from a time when adventure modules had very little in the way of background material or "role-playing" opportunities, and seems to benefit from that. Very good artwork from an era when good artwork in any RPG was the exception, not the rule. Erol Otus' cover and interior art stands out, and still holds up today. This is really worth hunting for.

At the time this came out, most of the 1st edition books were hack and slash. I was 15-18 back then and there wasn't much to thinking about how things came about . . . I'm 32 now and still gaming. But this module was well thought out and centered around a crashed spaceship in the mountains. PCs were sent to investigate and find out what happened as well as pick up some goodies in the process. Besides being inhabited by some nasty creatures it had some new ones, too. Includes an illustrated booklet of certain rooms and monsters.

Classic mix of fantasy and science fiction,

Here it is! The most bizarre adventure Gary Gygax ever wrote is also one of his most enduring classics. What would happen if extra-terrestrials visited Greyhawk? Well, you'd get: killer robots, colossal unique environments, a menagerie of "collected" horrific beasties, and some VERY bemused, horrified and confused PCs trying to learn the concept of "lasers" (insert Dr. Evil fingers here) without blowing their pointy-eared heads off. This is an unforgettable mix of hilarious absurdity and amazingly gritty gameplay for veteran players, character levels 8-12. One of the most ingenious modules ever made.

A wonderful curveball to throw at a mid-level party. The module comes with a double map folder, 32-page book, and 36-page illustration book full of classic TSR art from Erol Otus, Jeff Dee and others.

I played this module in 1980 when it first came out at the age of 14. Hard to believe it has been 28 years! A group of friends and I took this on a camping trip and played it by the fire. This is one of my fondest childhood memories!

only if you are right into sci-fi,

I didn't really like this one, I am a bit conservative with my campaign, and couldn't really take it seriously; Sci-fi is great, but not (for me) incorporated into a fantasy setting. I found it a bit over the top. If you want to incorporate a little Sci-fi into your campaign, i'd recommend I10 - Needle, which introduces a few aspects (lasers, interstellar travel) in the background, without tkaing over the entire adventure.
