Great movie, great score,

This score harkens back to the good old days of action film music. Like Jerry Goldsmith in the 1980s, Tyler writes a powerful set of melodies that are exciting and engaging. The scene with Mickey Rourke talking about his regrets "Confession" is a great change up with its melancholy feel. One of my favorite tracks this year. The action from Tyler is fantastic of course. I hope there is a sequel in the works because no one blows stuff up better than Stallone.

We loved the movie, partially due to the great songs that were played throughout. This is what I anticipated when I purchased this soundtrack. There are no vocals, none of the songs we enjoyed, just music. Wouldn't recommend you wasting your dollars.

People, people, people...this is a movie soundtrack not a rewind of songs from days gone by. Yes, it is true that there was a lot more music (with lyrics!) in the movie that really made it cool, like the Credence songs played while in the "Tool Shop" and the Thin Lizzy "Boys are Back" song while on bikes. However, if you did not pay attention to the instrumental pieces in the movie, then you missed part of the depth and emotion of the movie and its characters. Maybe a two-cd collection could be made with both sets of music/songs.
I LOVE my cd. I listen to it all of the time. When I hear "The Expendables", I can see in my mind the part of the movie where Lee and I believe Ying Yang run down the hall placing explosives on the columns. I see Barney jerking the plane in a tight turn in "Aerial" to return and reak havoc on the bad guys. I smile each time I hear "Lee and Lacey" as I think about how hard he tries to be romantic and how he just clobbered the idiot trying to play basketBALLS! ;-) And "Confession" brings a warm memory to me as I see Tool telling his troubling story. Brian, please keep making your wonderful music. I learned to know it through Stallone's movies and now I am able to recognize it elsewhere causing me to buy even more of your music! Thank you! (P.S. I cannot get enough of the drums in "The Compound" from Rambo 2008.) And Sly, oh my...I just want to throw away all of the people that have criticized or not recognized your talents. You are the master at telling a story through film and I for one appreciate all of the hard work you throw into each and every movie. Best wishes to you and your family!
