Level: Aimed at everyone who is interested in traveling and learning, exploring and witnessing different cultures, and humanity's everyday life on Mother Earth. This DVD video takes you to historic Eger, Hungary, Europe. Industrial Sponsors/ Contributors include, with special thanks to The People and the City of Eger, Hungary, CIMware Ltd. UK, CIMware USA, Inc., and others. Contents: This electronic publication is a professional quality DVD video, taking you to the historic town of Eger, and to the Fortress of Eger, in Hungary. Eger lies in the Eger valley, surrounded by mountains, 80 miles North-East of Budapest, Hungary. Eger is one of the most beautiful and frequently visited towns in Hungary. It has a rich history, well preserved baroque buildings and world famous wines, amongst them the Bull's Blood, a full bodied red wine. The area of the town was already inhabited in the Stone Age. The first generation of Hungarians occupied this land at the beginning of the 10th century. In the autumn of 1552, Captain István Dobó and his brave soldiers were successful in defending the Fortress of Eger and Northern Hungary from the expanding Turkish Empire. Captain Dobó and his 2500 soldiers, man and women bravely defended the fortress in 1552, against a well armed 60-70 thousand strong Turkish army. Until this time, the Turkish army was thought to be invincible, and the news of its defeat spread across Europe. This victory stopped the spread of the Ottoman Empire for some decades. Enjoy the excitement, the classical historic atmosphere of the streets, the fortress and the minaret area, the beautiful baroque buildings, the kindness of the people, and all the natural sounds and life of this city. What you will learn: Having watched the DVD video, you will get the exitement of this great place; just as if you were walking and exploring the city by day...
