This is THE true story of "The Big One",
By
This review is from: My experiences in the World War, (Hardcover)
Just finished both Volumes. Wow! These books were amazing. If you want a accurate description of how WWI was then look no further. Much detail, told chronologicaly. In Pershing's own words with tons of letters to back it all up. Each chapter starts off with a synopsis and and excerpt from General Pershing's own personal diary. Can't get anymore factual than this. It will really make you think of how hard it must have been and of how close the Allies came to almost losing the war. These tomes are really very insightful. You will not be disappointed after you finish reading these. You will only want to read more about, 'The Big One.'

This review is from: My Experiences in the World War, Volume II (Military Classics Series) (Hardcover)
This book fills a place for future reference to Pershing,Marshall, the AEF and other names with the Americans in France WWI. Many modern writer fail to give credit to the up hill managment and logistics battle in standing up an inexpericed Army in front of people who were pulling different ways both politically and militarly !!
