Sometimes textbooks aren't too bad...:), October 2, 2005
This review is from: Experiencing Dominion: Culture, Identity, and Power in the British Mediterranean (Paperback)
I had to read this book for my Western Civilization class at the University of Florida. I was suprised to find myself, and many of my classmates, actually enjoying what was going on. There are knife fights, protests, and lawlessness abound. Gallant gives many great examples of everything he discusses. I actually learned some interesting stuff, and I think the other people in my class did too. I would recommend reading this if you are interested in Greek culture or just in European culture. It is a good read.
