Highly recommending "Experiencing God",
By A Customer
This review is from: Experiencing God Day-By-Day: A Devotional (Hardcover)
Experiencing God is by far the most superior devotional I've ever read. The daily enteries are bible based, insightful, thought provoking and practical. Easily read and absorbed in 15 minutes, what a way to start the day! A highly recommended tool for spiritual growth at any stage in your Christian walk.

My church family read My Utmost for His Hightest corporately for 1999. I decided for 2000 to buy everyone another devotional that we could read corporately. I chose Experiencing God Day-by-Day. It was a major blessing. Personally and corporately we are experiencing God day-by-day. As I journal I write love letters to God. I feel I have drawn a little closer to God before I close that book. This devotional causes you to look within and come clean with God.

Hm. . .,
This review is from: Experiencing God Day-by-Day: Devotional (Hardcover)
I am about halfway through this devotional. Over the time I've been reading it, I have continually felt condemned and have questioned some of the things written in here. I've brushed them aside until now, thinking that if I feel condemned there is probably good reason and that I shouldn't just read "encouraging" devotionals.
However, I must disagree with the one of the statements in this book, that "there should never be dry spells in the Christian life" - April 23. That was kind of the last straw for me. Throwing out blanket statements about what "should" or "should not" be in a Christian's life is very dangerous thinking. Also, saying that dry spells do not exist ignores about half of the Psalms and all of the book of Job. This book continually states that most or every problem in the Christian life is most likely brought on by something you are doing or not doing. I disagree with that statement and believe that God sometimes withdraws the "feeling" of His presence to test our faith. That is not to say He withdraws Himself or isn't with us, but no one can deny that sometimes we just cannot feel Him. There is some great stuff in this devotional, but I must say I do not look forward to reading it everyday. If anything it has taught me to question what religious leaders say and to make my own opinions about what I believe is true. Read carefully, and decide for yourself.

An excellent devotional for hearing the voice and heart of God first thing in the morning. I've tried a lot of devotionals in my life but this one helps me sense God's pulse for my life better than any others. Highly recommended.

You can tell the spirit led Henry Blackaby when writing this devotional. It seems like everyday when I pick it up, there is something that just speaks to my heart! This is the best daily devotional I have owned, and would recommend it to anyone. The scripture references allow deeper follow-up on all the material covered. Experience a closer walk with God with the help of "Experiencing God Day-By-Day: Devotional".

A Daily Portion,

We all need food for physical life and spiritual food for a vigorous spritual life. A daily portion of "Experencing God Day-By-Day" will help feed that soul-life as few devotional books can. The Blackaby father-and-son team know the scriptures well and give great insight and illumination of them to those who delve into this volume. The applications for life made on each page will compel you to ponder the truths from the Bible. I have been blessed in reading it, I pray you will be, too.

Truely God-inspired writings. The book begins each day with a quote from the Bible, explains the quote, then shows how each of us can apply this to our everyday lives. The practical material is most touching and insightful.

Beware small print,

This review is from: Experiencing God Day-by-Day: Devotional (Hardcover)
I just received this devotional in the mail. It seems great so far at least where each day's message is concerned, but one practical item to consider is the very small print size. Being middle-aged, I am struggling to see the words on the pages even with my glasses on or contacts in. Folks who are visually challenged may want to choose a "large print" version if there is one available.

Best Devotional Hanbook,

This is the best devotional handbook I've ever read. The message is brief, but very deep and powerful. I feel that God is always speaking to me each time I read the message. A great compliment if you are doing the Experiencing God's bible study.

I am very glad I purchased this little devotional. Even though each devotional is very brief, they are always very thought provoking and challenge me in at least one area in which I need to be challenged. Each one is scripture based and not just an inspirational story from someone's life and I like that. My only problem with it is that the print is quite small and not as easy to read as I would like; however, I llike the compact size of the book so that is the trade-off.
