Book Description

'Light, if is goes in search of darkness will find its absence.' Ramesh is truly a rare light. Rather than dispelling darkness he helps us awaken to understanding that darkness is merely an illusion...a mirage. With astonishing clarity he lifts us out of the morass that is our conditioned thinking and points us to the Truth that is masked by our ego. Through 24 dialogues between the Jnani (Enlightened Master) and a disciple, we are allowed vivid insights into the nature of God, alienation, Love, Joy and BEING. This is a book for the serious spiritual seeker. it point to the most basic of all facts: We are not what we think we are... we are much, much more.

4.0 out of 5 stars A lot of material in a short space., January 13, 2011
This review is from: Experiencing the Teaching (Paperback)
The book deals with several Advaita topics, each a few pages long, taken from talks with students and Balsekar.

Most readers will need to read this over 3 or more times in order to "get it", if they even are capable of doing so. However, the prize is worth the effort, and the reader may get the "punchline" at some point, being the the 'apperception' that there is no individual self etc. (standard teachings of Nisargadatta et. al).

The reader will need to deal with a lot of jargon, such as sentences to the likes of "True perceiving means perceiving the phenomenality as such - and therefore the phenomenal objects - after apperceiving the identity of phenomenality and noumenality." Unfortunately, the average guy on the street won't be open to this level of understanding.

However, for those interested in self enquiry, nonduality, and seeking something with a 'punch', this book does deliver, and there are quite a few enjoyable conversations laid out within.
