A great resource for active intercultural training,

This review is from: Experiential Activities for Intercultural Learning (Paperback)
This wonderful collection of ready-to-use experiential activities providing clearly stated objectives, time requirements, materials, settings, etc. assures hours of valuable and highly meaningful experiences for learners and workshop participants alike. I have used some of the activities or adaptations thereof in both, the academic as well as the corporate environment, and was extremely delighted with the eye-opening insights gained by participants.

Experiential Activities....,

Lots of great ideas on a difficult subject. All learning experiences are very complete in description and materials needed. If you can't find something in here to introduce cultural differences, I would be very surprised. The variety is excellent as well. I recommend this book as a reference for any Training need in culture. I am actually adapting one of the games to a corporate culture experience rather than ethnic or geographic.

Mostly focused on academia,

This book primarily focuses on classroom cross-cultural learning and pre-study or pre-work abroad preparation. While many of the exercises are good, the "experiential" approaches primarily involve having different role plays and conversations and then flipcharting people's responses.

Only a few useful activities,

While I did pull a few things from the book that helped me develop some discussion points for my course, I found that for the most part, the activities were either too tedious and complicated or too simplistic. Of all that were presented, I only found 2 or 3 that I would seriously consider using in a classroom. Not an especially valuable resource.
