Editorial Reviews

Review

'Contending that concrete experiences communicate deep truths, Losey keeps a fun tone throughout the book, offering great insights while not taking himself too seriously. He offers ways to think about creating experiences, as well as practical ways to go about doing it.' - M.K. -- YouthWorker Journal

4.0 out of 5 stars A really good way to work with Sr. Highs, October 18, 2005
This review is from: Experiential Youth Ministry Handbook: How Intentional Activity Can Make the Spiritual Stuff Stick (Youth Specialties) (Paperback)
This can be a epiphany for some youth leaders pulling out their hairs trying to excite their group spiritually. Many groups follow the same patterns and activities they've been doing the last 30+ years... "let's rap with the young people". This book leads leaders into an area that can be exciting with a willing group of students and potentially life-changing for kids who are "sitting on the fence". I reccomend this for Sr. High age kids.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for hands on learning, September 30, 2005
This review is from: Experiential Youth Ministry Handbook: How Intentional Activity Can Make the Spiritual Stuff Stick (Youth Specialties) (Paperback)
This was a great book for planning our student leadership retreat. We wanted our students to get hands on training at being leaders, dealing with problems, and working together and this book was full of great ideas. My only slight criticism would be that there is a lacking of spiritual teaching/connections to make with the hands-on stuff. Many of the exercises teach the same ideas: work together, co-operate, problem solve... But overall, full of great ideas.
