This review is from: Expert C++/CLI: .NET for Visual C++ Programmers (Expert's Voice in .NET) (Hardcover)
This book pretty much assumes you have some basic C++/CLI knowledge.
But, if you are like me, you will pick that basic knowledge on your own from the web and then you will probably buy this book :) This book has just the right piece of advice for all the coders who can learn the basics on their own but at the same time need to make sure they are doing things right. This book will give you that extra confidence and will take you to the next level.

Best on the Subject - but often 'in the weeds',

This is probably the best book on the subject. However, I find that the C++/C# (.NET) books tend to dive too deep in the weeds...
A few years ago I worked where we did 90% Microsoft development, but for the past few years I've developed with nearly 100% Java. I recently had a project where I needed to do some C++/.NET work so I wanted a good reference. Like I said, I found this book to be excellent. It covered everything I needed, and explained the information so it was easy to understand and apply to my project. However, I found it annoying that all of the .NET books I looked at (including this one) wanted to keep dropping down to examples of how the code was converted to CLR instructions. Although this is interesting (from a CS perspective) it tends to get in the way of me finding what I need to know to complete my project in two weeks! I definitely recommend this book - but I would like to see some of the .NET/CLR authors look up and stop assuming that we need to know how the code converts to machine instructions (this from someone that has written a lot of assembly-code).

I really like this book. It goes into depth and is very well written. It's the kind of writing that a professional programmer looks for because it goes straight to the punch and doesn't waste your time.

This book had what I needed but did not find in another C++/CLI book. The coverage is practical and immediately useful.
