Book Description

June 30, 2005 1594601542 978-1594601545 Workbook
This workbook, a companion to Expert Learning for Law Students, includes questions and exercises to assist students in practicing the concepts and building the skills explained in the main text. The books help law students build the learning and analytical skills necessary to succeed in law school, on the bar exam, and in law practice. In particular, the workbook includes exercises designed to help students build lifelong learning skills; create study groups that really work; read court opinions using the approaches adopted by successful law students, by lawyers and by law professors; develop basic legal analysis skills; and prepare for and take law school examinations. The book and workbook have been successfully used as part of law school introductory programs and in academic support programs. They also can be used by individual students as study guides or aids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide, November 1, 2009

I have not completed the reading yet, however what I have read has enlightened me.
Law school is different from any other learning I have attempted. After completing my first year, it is readily apparent the professors expect you to have much of the knowledge already and what you don't have you are expected to get on your own. This book has helped with identifying the skills to analyze and then to put that information down on paper.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, January 2, 2008

I read this book before law school and have not found it helpful at all. There are better prep books out there that are much more effecient and direct.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book really worked for me, August 31, 2007
I wasn't planning on posting a review, but I saw the other review today and I really disagreed with it. This book worked for me. It took some time, but I worked through the book and I feel now like I am a much better student. Too many books just tell you what you know and either skim over or ignore how to develop your own learning style. This book may not for everyone -- I know some people who would hate working through the various exercises because it is not how they operate. Personally, I found the exercises extremely helpful and I highly recommend this book.
