Great for the expert witness bookshelf,
By Kevin Beaver (Atlanta, GA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Law for the Expert Witness, Third Edition (Kindle Edition)
It's easy to assume that to be an expert witness all you really need to know is your field. That's a dangerous assumption. Being an expert witness myself, I've seen over the years that knowing the legal side of what we do is something we can't afford to take for granted. The book is certainly not comprehensive in every area but it does cover a lot of ground.
There's good information and case examples on the evidence discovery process and chain of custody. I really like the section titled Suggestions and Hints for Expert Witnesses which contains good insight into presenting testimony and surviving cross-examinations. Overall, very good. It's a little pricey given the page count but a drop in the bucket compared to what it costs to *not* know this stuff. |
