This review is from: Explanatory Notes upon the Old and New Testament (Hardcover)
Good hardbound volumes. Photo-reproduced means archaic printing formats, but don't let that throw you. You can learn how John Wesley translated, interpreted, and applied every Biblical passage. His New Testament Notes are official United Methodist Church doctrine (i.e. it's a chargeable offense to teach contrary opinions). The OT notes have been out of print for many years, so I'm glad that Schmul makes them available to us now. It's spendy, no way around that. Every preacher/teacher in the Wesleyan tradition should read Wesley's Notes before going to the pulpit/class...they're short & clear. Many Notes are succinct summaries of his Sermon. Excellent church library selection!
