All Instrumental Set from Fairport Convention,

A good idea here- just do instrumentals. The musicians in Fairport Convention 1986 edition were well suited to this task. If you are a Fairport fan who hasn't heard much of their work after Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson left or if you are just someone who enjoys songs without words, this one is for you. Thompson guests on one song and from start to finish, a solid CD - 4.5 stars.

This CD has to be one of Fairport's bes Compilations. All the tunes have been heard before in other Fairport songs or just on their own but these tunes must be some of the best they have ever done.If you like Fairport mainly for the tunes and jigs this is definatly the CD for you. (PS in England you can now get this CD as a double album with Glady's Leap). |
