Editorial Reviews

We Are Enfant Terrible are two french boys and a girl trio from Paris created in May 2008. Their songs have an electro dance sound with indie rock and synthpop sounds and a touch of 8bit music. All performed live with Guitars, Drums and re-programmed Nintendo gameboy on stage.

Their lyrics talk about how young people see the world today, how they could smartly mix fashion culture, web domination, video game attraction, constant fun and still be aware of humanity, true feelings and resource sharing.

Buzzing on blogs and myspace, the trio played their first gig opening for Peaches. Songs are truly unique. "Eagles Don't Sparkle" was picked up via word of mouth as single of the week on the popular blog Drowned in Sound.

Compared to CSS, Goldfrapp, the Ting Tings or the Kills for their sense of sexyness, energy and wild performance. WAET blur the distinction between rock band and electro pop addiction.

Sometimes you just have to take a gamble on an unknown band, which is what I did after seeing the mesmerizing video for "Filthy Love," one of many excellent tracks on this record. I was impressed by the fluid bassline and the low-key, slightly accented vocals, not to mention the brilliance of the video.
This album was my reward for taking a small gamble. The whole thing is just superb, funky and futuristic, and completely sans pretense. It's like Fischerspooner and Sonic Youth conceived a child delivered by the Breeders.
The songs flow in a mildly broken English, supported by innovative bass and crafty keyboards...and the lyrics are full of double-entendre and wild imagery.

After a few excellent EPs, you had to wonder if this band had it in them to put out an album that would match and live up to the excitement the EPs generated. Wow, did they ever. This album starts off with an energetic, very french sounding, anthem type song, that gets you into their music and their world and then they keep you there all the way until the end. They seem to be able to sit down and write infectious pop songs that in some alternate cool world would be commercial. In our dreary real world they are relegated to college radio.
There are so many moods and textures on this album that you can listen to it over and over again and discover 'new' favorite songs every week. The kind of album where you say "Why didn't I notice this song the first time I listened to it???".
I only hope they tour America with this.
Get this! You wont be dissapointed.

I think both of this band's CDs are undiscovered treasures. No idea why they got so little attention. They have a distinctive sound, tho fans of New Order and the like won't find too much unfamiliar.
