I have started the Explode the Code series with my four year old son, who already has a very good grasp on phonics. With the drills in these workbooks, phonics can easily be taught/reinforced at a slow but steady pace. I like that these books have very basic lessons, which makes it easy for even the younger learners to stay on task. I am planning on using this series with my younger children when they are ready to begin learning.
