NOT GLJ,
By A Customer
This review is from: Exploding Girls (Audio CD)
Great, fine, but it IS NOT Gene Loves Jezebel. If you are new to this band, BEWARE! Michael Aston quit GLJ after several albums, leaving the rest of the band, including his brother, singer Jay Aston, to carry on without him. And they carried on without him to greater commercial success. Then, after the real GLJ released 3 albums without him, he decides to form a new band and also call themselves Gene Loves Jezebel, even though the REAL GLJ were still going!!! Confused? So are a lot of people, most of all Michael Aston himself.

I can't believe how good this record is. Being the first G.L.J. cd I've ever purchased I'm an instant FANATIC!This record is passionate, literate and beautifully executed! The VOICE is so emotional. 5 stars don't do it justice!!

BEST GLJ ALBUM YET,
By
This review is from: Exploding Girls (Audio CD)
First off, this is a great release. I really feel it is the best GLJ yet. It's a very solid cd and all tracks are pleasing.
I have to comment now about a nasty review I just read here regarding this release. I am always offended and perplexed when I read reviews and someone refers to an older band or band member being "washed up" or a "loser". Why do we only love when musicians are at their highest and "popular"? Michael Aston has an outstanding voice and enormous talent. Whether you like his music or not I don't think it's fair to call someone "washed up" or a "loser" because you don't like their current release or because they aren't on Billboard's Top 100. Just say you didn't like the cd. Geez.
