In this 1978 release by La Poncena, Tito Gomez and Yolanda Rivera are the lead vocalist's. Key numbers include "Se Formo" (Yolanda Rivera), "Moreno Soy" (Tito Gomez), the spine-tingling bolero "No Has De Verme Llorar" (Yolanda Rivera), and "Canto Al Amor" (Tito Gomez, Yolanda Rivera, Miguel Ortiz). Disco de oro!

Nearly 30 years after its original release on vinyl this timeless classic still smokes. By itself, the immortal "Se Formo" more than justifies buying this CD but other great "Salsa Dura" dance tracks featured here ("Moreno Soy", "Suena El Piano" and "Sentimiento Jibaro") make this a truly indispensable CD for any serious salsero. A truly definitive album of classic Puerto Rican salsa.

Ok folks lets go back to 1978 with what is considered by some to be one of La Sonora Ponceña finest albums. This a definitely a classic, produced by the one and only Papo Luca, and one that I remember hearing growing up as a kid. It wasn't until I was an adult over the top "Cocolo" (Salsero) that I truly appreciated what a great work this album really was with its crisp sounds and smooth arangements. Tito Gómez, Miguelito Ortiz, and Yolando Rivera are the featured lead vocalist. Explorando brought about many chart topping hits such as "Jubileo 20", "Moreno Soy", "Canto Al Amor" and my favorite song on the album "Se Formó." You can't leave out "Sentimiento Jibaro" which every self respecting Puerto Rican will appreciate and jam to, as it is dedicated to our beautiful little island.

This 1978 release was Sonora Poncena's all-time best album--and one that no real salsero should be without. By itself, the immortal "Se Formo" more than justifies buying this CD but the all-time classics "Moreno Soy" and "Canto Al Amor" are also stone-cold Poncena masterpieces. Best of all perhaps is this digitally remastered CD's superb sound quality (which is considerably better and cleaner than the original's). Buy this CD...pump it up in your stereo...your speakers will definitely get a workout...and enjoy it!!!
