4.0 out of 5 stars A lovely Introduction, August 6, 2007
This series has always been a great introduction to the astronomy world. Although this particular edition is outdated now, especially on some of the higher concepts of light speed travel, black holes, etc., all of the basic astronomy concepts still apply and are extremely easy to grap from this graphic-heavy book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, September 19, 1999
By A Customer
This is the best Astronomy text that I have ever seen. It is filled with colorful photos and diagrams, and delves into the more interesting aspects of astronomy. A must for any Astronomy teacher, student, or amateur astronomer. It's also included with a great CD that has planetarium software on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Getting around the Sky, March 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Easy to use and fabulous tool for anyone wishing to become intimately familiar with the changes in the sky. Somewhat less easy to install with portions requiring an intuitive approach, but well worth the momentary confusion the instructions, or lack thereof, create. Stuck in the city where viewing stars is a challenge, this is a purchase well worth the cost.Explorations: An Introduction to Astronomy (Case Bound) with Starry Night Pro DVD, version 5.0
