5.0 out of 5 stars Explorations/Explanations, April 30, 2011

I love this book! Unfortunately for me, I took this course on a short semester; not enough time to truly learn from it, just enough for testing. The pictures, supplemental support sites, and companion sites are all excellent as well. This was an online course for me but having all the pictorials and McGraw-Hill website allowed me to see events from the past or events missed due to weather situations that wouldn't be available by telescope only. Buy this book for personal enjoyment, if nothing else!

Having taken many science courses over the past few years, I have seen a lot of textbooks and this is one of the best. Generally in the course of a semester I find many things in a text that are unclear or inaccurate. In this book I have found none. The writing, editing, graphics, online animations and other resources are just superb. A pleasure to read and makes a fascinating and potentially complex subject easy to understand.

I read the whole book for class. Some parts of the text weren't clear for me. That is why I rate it down one star.
