This is a great guild for exploring typography. Whether you are a design student or someone with an interest in design and type, i think this is going to be a great product with lots of useful tips and knowledge to go along with it. It was a very valuable key in one of my design classes a few semesters ago and I still find myself using this at times.

This book is overall a good book on exploring typography. It shows plenty of examples. There are some explorations that are probably not practical in real world use, but maybe for some situations it will be okay. What I personally enjoyed about the book is how the author presents the content. In many textbooks on design, there is a lot to read. Other books contain a lot of text, but usually there are no visual examples to support what those authors are saying. In this book the text is kept minimal and gets to the point. The author does not go off topic or write too much. The text supports the different explorations and made this book easy to understand. It is a book that is easy to read compared to other textbooks. This is one of the few books that I have read through quickly. I wish more books were like this book. Each body of text has a visual example.

There are some negatives which is why I could not give this book 100% approval. The text is small and some colored orange. This is not the easiest to read. The book is labeled hardcover, but the cover is not the same as the hardcover books that I'm used to. The covers felt flimsy. The price of the book was an issue for me. It is expensive to me.

I would recommend this book if you have money to spend and looking for something easy to read or easy to understand regarding exploring typography.

The book came very recommended from my Typography professor yet I find it disappointing. The tiny orange type in the margins is very difficult to read which I find highly suspect in a book on the subject. Makes me question the design acumen of the author.

One of the MUST HAVE typographic reference books for students and designers. There are many excellent type setting examples and legible fonts in it. I can find inspiration every time I read it.
