I wanted to send some feedback regarding our recent purchase. There were a few issues / problems with the bed that made assembly challenging and frustrating at times.

1) We specifically inquired about having the stairs on the opposite side from the picture shown and were told it is not a problem. The bed IS designed for the stairs to be reversible, however, when the screws are completely striped, it is almost impossible to disassemble the stair section to reconfigure it for the opposite side. I ended up buying a professional strength allen wrench set to be able to remove the screws as the one provided was useless. When the hexagonal screw is more like a circle, the wrench is almost useless.

2) The headboard had wholes drilled on the wrong side, akin to receiving two left footed shoes. I had to break out my drill and make my own holes otherwise, a finished product would not have been possible. That was a source of frustration.

3) The steel mattress support had 2 brackets spot welded to the same position making it impossible to get a screw through the hole to attach the steel frame to the bed structure. I borrowed some pliers from my neighbor to tear the additional bracket off of the structure. This issue on its own would not be a big deal. When combined with the others after a less than flawless assembly, it was enough to merit a mention.

The bed seems nice... although we need to get a mattress that fits before we can really give it a test drive.

We were expecting a tough time putting it together. It took my husband and I 3 hours and we are not the most handy people. Having an electric screwdriver helped - just note they include an alan bit for your electric screwdriver! We put most of it together before we realized the bit was included - duh. My son absolutely loves his new bed and loves his special "magazine rack" for his books.
