Customer Reviews

I would definitely buy this stroller again and recommend it!
StephO.
The ride is very smooth and it definitely doesn't feel like I'm pushing 55lbs of kids.

Because one you crack the tape on the box, there is no turning back.

I read a few reviews saying that the wheels/tires were faulty but also read another review stating that a guy had actually called Phil and Ted's asking them about this and they said it was an early production issue and that the problem was now fixed. So I ordered my stroller and hoped for the best. I was not disappointed! The wheels are totally fine and inflated with zero problems. The manual was a little difficult to understand (think IKEA manuals) but I was able to figure it out. I am able to fit my 42 pound (the max weight for the front seat is 44 pounds) 5 year old in the front seat and my 4 month old in the back. Most strollers can't do this! Plus I love the way it looks and get compliments on it regularly (though, this isn't the most important feature). Love the one hand fold! The front wheel is easy to lock/unlock and the sun shades are awesome! I would definitely buy this stroller again and recommend it!

The Phil and Teds Explorer is the second double stroller I've purchased and the 4th stroller purchase overall (Graco Metrolite Travel System and cheapo umbrella stroller). I've been using it for about 6 months now and it is by far, the best stroller I've ever used. My previous double stroller was a Schwinn Double Jogger and while not terrible, doesn't come close to the Phil and Teds. I do not run with this stroller, so I cannot say how it works as a jogger. I use it mainly for our 2 mile walk to the park, which is mostly sidewalk and a few bumpy spots of gravel and grass. I am very petite (5'tall) and can easily fold this stroller and put it into my trunk and the fact that it fits in my trunk (Mercury Sable) without having to remove the wheels (like I had to do with my jogger) is fantastic. The doubles kit is easy to attach to the rear, literally takes seconds to attach. My two kids 4 and 2, can both ride in either seat. My 4 year old is small for her age and hasn't quite hit 30lbs (weight limit for the doubles kit is 33lbs). The ride is very smooth and it definitely doesn't feel like I'm pushing 55lbs of kids. The sun shades are both fabulous. Living in Texas, this was a major concern for me. I needed sunshades to cover both the front and the back passengers. The harness system is easy to use and the shoulder straps are cushioned which is a nice bonus. I was able to assemble this stroller by myself fairly quickly. The tires are easy to inflate and unlike my Schwinn, I haven't had to re-inflate them since I first assembled the stroller. I did purchase an inexpensive caddy/cup holder from Amazon (under $15) and it fits perfectly with the Phil and Teds.Read more ›

I purchased a Phil & Ted explorer with doubles kit just before having my 2nd baby, bringing us to "two under two" at that time. My older is now 26 months and our younger 6 months. This stroller is meeting our needs perfectly! I cannot say how happy I am with this stroller and continually grateful for all it allows me to do. I am very active, and I get around regularly by myself without the assistance of my spouse. I needed something versatile, convertible, lightweight and small (I am just over 5' and 115lbs) and something I could maneuver almost anywhere because being out alone I can't afford to "get stuck" or have my spouse fold and carry the stroller through doorways, ect.

I do want to say that this stroller may not be for everyone or meet your specific needs! But for me, I am ONE HAPPY AND SATISFIED CUSTOMER. As you know, this is an expensive purchase, so I was nervous about taking the plunge, but several things helped:
- A group pitched in and raised several hundred
- A friend of ours pitched in a few hundred
- We sold several baby items we no longer needed
We ended up putting out only $110 of our own money...the cost of the most affordable double available these days. So WE DID IT and it is PERFECT for us.

>>>Possible "cons" that may cause you to find another stroller for your needs:
1. Multiple pieces (you do have to assemble it and disassemble it getting in and out of the car). I will say however, that even though I am "putting it together", either I am super fast or the stroller is actually super-easy because I am always ready first even though others do not have a stroller at all with them or a stroller that does not have attachments.

After just a few months of a cheap Graco, I convinced my husband to let me buy this stroller. We only had one child at the time, but the back seat was still great for storage, and occasionally when I'd babysit for a friend. It is super sturdy, pushes with ease and looks super stylish. We were pleasantly suprised to find that our snugride carseat fits on the handle bar as is, without the attatchment, and we also have gotten the peanut to use this stroller as a pram when our next baby arrives in the next few months. Still in love with our Phil and Ted after over a year of owning one! Have reccomended it to all our friends with kids!
