You can tell the author knows her stuff. One tip for users of this book - if a restaurant review includes items from the menu, then go ahead and try the restaurant (Yelp it first). We figured out that these restaurants are better than the ones that get a casual mention. Also, it would have been nice to have a bulleted highlights page at the beginning of each section. It's hard to tell what's worth seeing if you only have a few days. My tip - do not miss Watkins Glen falls (park across the street in the town and save $10). Overall, the best, most up-to-date guide to the Finger Lakes.

I used this in conjunction with Frommers New York State. It provided some details not included in Frommers, because this book is specific to the Finger Lakes. Still, I thought it could have provided more information. Nevertheless, it recommended a great Bed and Breakfast, and gave us good tips for our recent trip.
