From School Library Journal
Grade 8 Up-This career guide begins by analyzing the modern cruise ship business: the types of cruises, who takes them, why, prices, and what there is to do on board. Kennedy enriches his account with anecdotes drawn from his own experiences as well as those of others. He also offers a straightforward look at a highly competitive industry and stresses the need for applicants to be persistent and seriously committed. One chapter lists types of positions available. A directory of cruise lines with addresses is included. Sound, common-sense advice is given in chapters entitled "How to Apply," "How to Follow Up," and interviewing. An up-to-date, useful book.
