4.0 out of 5 stars Rich and colorful., November 2, 1998

This review is from: Exploring Florida, 3rd Edition (Paperback)
"Fodor's Exploring Florida" is a rich and colorful guide to the Sunshine State.

Whether it's urban Pensacola or historic Fort Jefferson (the largest coastal fortress in the United States and located 60 miles west of Key West), this sleek and holdable volume unveils the beauty and uniqueness of Florida in ways few guides can match.

Though hotel and restaurant suggestions aren't given in-depth, the selections are generally good. Ditto excursions, itineraries, and shopping recommendations.

But fine maps and photographs abound. Especially well-captured are the dramatic sunset at Mallory Square Pier, in Key West; Bahia State Recreation Area; and Bonita Beach, a serene developement along the southwest Gulf Shore.

There's also great art and architectual information!
