Annesa Hartman holds a Masters in Teaching with Internet Technologies, focusing her attention on instructional design for online technologies, and Web and graphic design concepts and programs. Currently, she is a Content Development Specialist for Kaplan University, where she designs and develops online courses for Kaplan educators. She also teaches online computer graphic courses for Modesto Junior College in California and the Community College of Vermont. As well, for over 14 years she has been a freelance graphic designer with clients from around the world. She is the author of Exploring Adobe Photoshop CS4, Exploring Adobe Illustrator CS4, and Producing Interactive Television. I had to purchase this book for a class (Digital Imaging), which I came to with about twenty years of Graphic Design experience already under my belt -- so to be honest, there was not a single piece of information in this book that I didn't already know.

However, I can still remember fumbling with Photoshop's earlier incarnations when it was new to me (oh so many years ago), and I also remember *wishing* I had a book that could teach me the fundamentals.

This is the book I wish I had back then. If you are new to Photoshop, then Exploring Photoshop CS3 will teach you all the basics and a bit more. It does it in easy language, step by step, building on what you learn as you go. By the time you've worked your way through the book, you'll be able to use Photoshop with a fair degree of skill for many purposes.

Mind you, this book will NOT make a "Photoshop Master" out of you -- and if, like me, you're already very proficient with Photoshop, then you simply don't need this book because it won't teach you anything new.

But for the pure Beginner, or a dabbler who isn't really all that familiar with the tools, Exploring Photoshop CS3 is an excellent choice.

This book is excellent for beginners and intermediate users,shows you all the tools and how to use them, in a step by step, simple way. This book is expensive but it is worth it.
You will not be guessing your way through Photoshop CS3 if you go through this workbook.

I know this was purchased almost a year ago but I just found where I bought it in my emails. It said it was new. It wasn't. There is a name written in it an also, I am having trouble using the CD because of the fact that it has been used. I am disappointed about the deception. Don't know if I would buy again from this person.
