Awesome for intro. to psychology,
By Jason Redrock "Researcher" (Chicago, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Exploring Psychology, Sixth Edition, in Modules (Paperback)
It seems that many other books in psychology do not offer information in such a broad and defined view to the wide content that creates Psychology as a science. I would recommend this book to someone instead of the For Dummies or Complete Idiots Guide series. The logic behind many concepts are shown in cartoons, pictures, and presentations. I would say this book, in many aspects, is descriptive.
This book includes the following: - Diseases and disorders - Cognitive science (learning, developmental stages, etc.) - neuroscience/neurophysiology (schizo mind, neural connections) - Psychophysics, which describe how the human body interprets information through their senses. (THIS IS NOT IN A LOT OF PSYCHOLOGY BOOKS, VERY NECESSARY TO LEARN) - Psychobiology and evolutionary genetics

For the beginning psychology student, or for someone who just wants to learn some of the basics, this is a good book.
I used to for a class and it is quite informative. It teaches many of the psych terms and gives examples of how the ideas apply to real life. It also gets a little into the biological things having to do with psychology, but not real deep. A few entertaining things are in there as well, like small comic strips to demonstrate their points in a humorous way.

I'm a college student and i'm sooooo glad i didn't have to purchase this book at our book store. I bought it here on Amazon with shipping for like 30-40 bucks less than the University's price. I give it two thumbs up! :)

I was very impressed with the price, the condition, and the speed with which I received the Psychology textbook. I didn't find out what the required textbook for this class was until the day that the class began. Since I (like everyone else) am low on funds, I was afraid I would be paying out the wazoo or waiting 2 or 3 weeks for the book to arrive. Luckily, I found Amazon and everything worked out great.

The books condition was exactly as listed and I got it right when I was told I would. I do have to add that this book is a REALLY good read. If you're interested in psychology this is the book to get. It covers all the right material for an introductory psychology class but it keeps it interesting with fun language, and even some jokes. Imagine that, a textbook in which the author jokes with the reader. AMAZING!

This book touches a little bit on all subjects from how the brain works with drugs, the eyes, the ears etc. I know just enough to be dangerous. Just kidding, but it was very informative and the author has a sense of humor and it comes out in the book.

This product did not fit the description on what the seller put. The seller also never returned my Amazon e-mail. The book had water stains/mold which was not clarified and also had highlighting when stated it didn't.
