Although this book is slightly expensive for its size it gives great explanations of tropical weather systems and step by step exercises of how to use the Arc GIS program. Very useful for beginner students.

I used this book once as a lab for my Meteorology course. It's a great way to introduce students to Geographic Information Systems with an interesting topic. At the time I ordered it (in Fall 2008 for Spring 2009), the book was about $20. I'm extremely disappointed in the publisher for jacking up the price to nearly $50. I can't ask my students to spend that much money on a set of exercises that we only use for 2 weeks. Shame on Brooks Cole!!
