I Purchased this for some older friends of mine. They enjoy it. This is easy to understand and has many illustrations. It is a good resource without being overly technical. It covers what the average, older person needs to know to make Windows 8 productive.

This book should be better organized, and in particular, it should have an index, so the reader can focus on issues of specific interest, rather than having to search page-by-page for the topic of concern. The table of contents is not a sufficient substitute for an index.

I have not been to happy in the past with most Dummies books. This one however is easily worth the money. It covers windows 8 in a very complete manner and really gets you up to speed quickly.

This book saved my life (sort of). I just bought a computer with Windows 8. Yuck! I hate Windows 8, especially at the beginning. I'm now getting used to it so it's not so bad. I would have pulled all my hair out if I hadn't bought the book. I couldn't even figure out how to log out of the computer. I had to unplug it until I was able to read about logging off.
