The first thing I would say is don't be thrown off by the age of this book. After 15 years of studying praise and worship and being a worship pastor for nearly a decade, I have yet to come across anything that comes close to this. Don't get me wrong, I've read some great books that I think are must reads and that I highly recommend, but Bob Sorge's book trumps them all. It is so amazingly practical and it's a book about principle and purpose more than style which also makes it timeless.
I can tell you from much experience that Exploring Worship is an absolutely easy read and it will challenge you time and time again. I am now going through this book once again with my band, choir, and worship team. This makes at least 4 times that I have read this through over the years, and I am still finding nuggets! And in 15 years of being acquainted with this book, I have yet to meet someone who has read it that hasn't loved it. GET THIS BOOK! Don't stop, don't wait, don't even hesitate; it will be the best 10-15 bucks you'll spend on your worship life.
