Best Geography Book Ever!,
This review is from: Exploring Your World: The Adventure of Geography (National Geographic) (Hardcover)
I am a licensed secondary social studies teacher and of all the texts I have seen I lament that schools never picked up on this one. Best suited for about 5th or 6th grade I believe, this geography book covers it all in a well condensed volume with stunning photography and easy to follow write ups. All of the major geographic concepts are also well presented. It is even more a shame that this text book did not take off because the NGS then has not done a revision with 1994 being the most current and we all know there have been lots changes since then. If you are a parent looking for something to do with your child over the summer to keep them sharp, enhance their education, and help keep them from losing some knowledge during those gap months between grades as studies show kids do lose, or if you just want an excellent at home geography reference to enhance what they are doing during the school year, then get yourself a copy of this book, you won't be disappointed.
