I bought these for my classroom because my "little angels" would often go by and erase the standards-based daily lesson plans I have to write each morning. I figured a little board cleaner and paper towels would be worth the trouble. I've used them a bit, but find that they're too much of a hassle to use for something I have to change in a day.

PRO

-Dark ink with good contrast on the board, better than the dry erase.

-Doesn't "bump off" with accidental contact.

-You can use a regular eraser to fix mistakes while it's still wet.

CON

-Smears a great deal when removing.

-Takes longer to get the board completely clean.

-Harder to remove the longer it stays on the surface.

These "cons" *include* when using the recommended white-board cleaner. What worked best was using as little cleaner as possible to remove most of the ink, letting it dry a little, and then, using a clean cloth, spraying and wiping again, with a bit of dry buffing.

I'm definitely happy with the staying power. I use them to write important notices that will stay up a few days (Test on Unit 4 WEDNESDAY, for example). The kids can't just run their fingers on the board as they walk by and erase a streak through that. But, if you plan on writing a lot and erasing frequently, these are probably not your best bet...Unless you have free student labor to get them clean!

The pens are great. I use them with my weekly planner in my classroom because they are so easy to clean. Shipping price is ridiculous for this small an item. I tried to cancel the order when I saw I was being charged $10.00 shipping, but it couldn't be cancelled. I will definitely be more careful in the future or not shop amazon.com again.
