Too expensive for not much performance,

This review is from: Expoimaging Ring Flash Adapter for Canon - Expoimaging RAC1702 (Electronics)
I hated the look of this compared to a real ringflash. The catch light (reflection in the model's eyes) was very ugly-it's a u shape and not round (and also too small). Using this device with any background other than a wall or backdrop just yields shots that look like a normal flash shot.
Considering that this is not really a flash or a light, but just a plastic adapter, and that you can get a real ringflash for not much more, the price on the Ray Flash is way too high. For say $100. it might be worth it as a toy to have in your bag for occasional use, but at $300., no way.

For close portrait shooting in a fluid situation this ring flash will give you a nicely diffused light. It will cost you a stop or 1.5 stops so you'll want to adjust accordingly. It feels a little rickety and looks strange but works fairly well.
