Wow...This book really lets you right into the middle of these frighteningly perverted cases. The Dateline series only scratches the surface. I thought that the book, overall, was interesting. Working in the criminal justice system, I know this occurs. I must also counter another reviewer by saying that yes, these predators do indeed succeed in luring young teens into sexual relationships. I have seen it literally dozens of times.

5.0 out of 5 stars great book, April 3, 2007
This review is from: Exposed: The Harrowing Story of a Mother's Undercover Work with the FBI to Save Children from Internet Sex Predators (Hardcover)
Wow...This book really lets you right into the middle of these frighteningly perverted cases. The Dateline series only scratches the surface. Before reading this book, you can't even imagine the things these grown men will do and say to get what they want. Thank God for people like Stephanie Good and the FBI agents she worked with who protect our children from these horrors. Hopefully this book will raise the awareness of this problem and make parents more aware of the dangers their children face online.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reality, May 15, 2007
This review is from: Exposed: The Harrowing Story of a Mother's Undercover Work with the FBI to Save Children from Internet Sex Predators (Hardcover)
The book exposes the real world we live in and the dangers it poses. The author does an excellent job of telling the stories and not getting into too much detail. We need more people willing to risk their own personal life to help others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, February 5, 2008
This review is from: Exposed: The Harrowing Story of a Mother's Undercover Work with the FBI to Save Children from Internet Sex Predators (Hardcover)
This book is a must read for parents and for anyone working in local, state or federal law enforcement. It offers a clear understanding of how many sick people are out there and how our children are so vulnerable and easily exposed to these internet predators. The work of Good together with the FBI is extraordinary. Their efforts will not take all predators off the street, but with each one they send to jail, several of our children are saved from their lives and innocense being destroyed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every parent should read this book! Another Best Seller, March 29, 2007
This review is from: Exposed: The Harrowing Story of a Mother's Undercover Work with the FBI to Save Children from Internet Sex Predators (Hardcover)
R. Stephanie Good is every parent's hero. Not only is she a New York Times best selling author,
but she is also a courageous individual. "Dateline" does not come close to her professionalism and
actual convictions. As a Journalist, I see sick individuals daily going after our children.
Not only does this book educate the young and old alike, but it takes you into a world that has not been portrayed properly until now.
Anyone that does not like this book is either a pedophile, or someone from Aruba who has been exposed in her Natalee Holloway book.
This one of the best books I have read, and it should be made into a television series. Keep up the great work and thanks for
caring about our children. I have purchased copies for my children. "The NewsBreaker"

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, but..., August 11, 2008
This review is from: Exposed: The Harrowing Story of a Mother's Undercover Work with the FBI to Save Children from Internet Sex Predators (Hardcover)
I thought that the book, overall, was interesting. Working in the criminal justice system, I know this occurs. I must also counter another reviewer by saying that yes, these predators do indeed succeed in luring young teens into sexual relationships. I have seen it literally dozens of times.

However, I found that the book was poorly written. It was extremely repetitive and the author spends a large portion of the latter section of the book defending her actions and reiterating the fact that she didn't testify in court in order to sell more books.

I must certainly commend her actions, but I believe that the author spends far too much time defending her motives and explaining why she is on the internet working for the FBI and not enough time explaining the phenomenon itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like 'to catch a predator'..., November 30, 2009
This review is from: Exposed: The Harrowing Story of a Mother's Undercover Work with the FBI to Save Children from Internet Sex Predators (Hardcover)
This book goes hand and hand with the Chris Hanson book on the same subject. Her cases that she has worked were pretty wild. I thought it was a good read and if you like the Dateline show, you will like this book.

Hey Folks,
Mrs.Good takes you through her experiences with the sexual predators that she enounters in her great work as a civilian UC helping the FBI put these folks where they belong...in a cage away from our kids! This book discusses the many facets of this section of law enforcement and even brings you into a trial and shows you the sleazy attempt by a defense lawyer to get the predator from having to do the time for his, or her, crime. This is a great book to companinion "To catch a Predator" by Chris Hasen. These two books are must reads for anyone interested in this subject. God Bless you all, Doneaux.

5.0 out of 5 stars I commend R. Stephanie Good for this book, May 20, 2007
This review is from: Exposed: The Harrowing Story of a Mother's Undercover Work with the FBI to Save Children from Internet Sex Predators (Hardcover)
I have read this book, and found it very interesting! Repetitive it was NOT. There are ALOT of sick pediphiles out there, and this lets them know we have their number! This woman works at getting them off the internet, and it doesn't take over night, it's alot of making sure she has who she thinks she has. I think R. Stephanie Good is a "PLUS" to life, if only more people were more like her this world would be a better place.

3.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting Read, March 28, 2007
This review is from: Exposed: The Harrowing Story of a Mother's Undercover Work with the FBI to Save Children from Internet Sex Predators (Hardcover)
An interesting read for anyone interested in the internet as a social phenomenon and wants to know what's going on out there.

Ms. Good is to be commended for her dilligent work but I must say I wonder how much crime is actually being prevented. Don't get me wrong; these are absolutely not cases of entrapment. No one has been induced to commit the crimes they get charged with. They are plain and simple online looking for kids and young teens. So they get what they deserve. However, because they are very obvious about what they seek I wonder how many kids would ever agree to this. I would presume the average kid would cringe at the thought and stop talking to the predator. Maybe it's mostly the decoys like Ms. Good who continue the chats. The fact that these guys are pretty open about what they want makes them the easiest for kids to avoid and they probably do just that all the time.

That's not to say there are not dangerous predators out there. Of course there are. But the really dangerous ones would be the ones who never bring up sex in internet chats and simply try to befriend the kid and try to arrange a meeting over some innocent common interest like music or video games--and if successful in getting to meet the kid, would groom and seduce--or worse--in person. That sort of individual will not fall into Ms. Good's (or Dateline NBC's) snare because with nothing malicious in the chat logs they don't have a case and don't persue in the first place. Those are the really dangerous ones and the decoy/sting technique doesn't do anything about them. Alas, I can't think of anything that would either.

Just my two cents.
