Editorial Reviews

Review

"The Chandler books are pure adrenaline-fueled fun. Once you start, you won't be able to put it down. I wish I'd written this." - Jack Kilborn, bestselling author of Afraid.

From the Author

Exposed is a short novel prequel to the Codename: Chandler series. The order is Hit, Exposed, Naughty, Flee, Spree, and Three.

The books also feature many appearances from the authors' other thrillers, including Lt. Jack Daniels (Whiskey Sour), private eye Harry McGlade (Shaken), Tequila Abernathy (Shot of Tequila), and Val Ryker and David Lund (Pushed Too Far).

Spree also features villains from Blake Crouch's novels Abandon and Snowbound, and Santiago from Afraid by Jack Kilborn.

The series can be read in any order, but for those who prefer chronologically, it goes like this:

SHOT OF TEQUILA
HIT
EXPOSED
WHISKEY SOUR
BLOODY MARY
RUSTY NAIL
DIRTY MARTINI
ABANDON
SNOWBOUND
PUSHED TOO FAR
NAUGHTY
FLEE
SPREE
THREE
FUZZY NAVEL
CHERRY BOMB
SHAKEN
STIRRED

Chandler will appear in Last Call, the ninth Jack Daniels thriller, being co-written with Blake Crouch for a mid 2013 release, and Free, the fourth Codename: Chandler adventure, in 2014. Ann is also working on the next two books in the Pushed Too Far trilogy, Cut Too Deep and Dead Too Soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Action, Action and More Action October 6, 2011
By Bill
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Chandler is an agent who never forgets the mission, but she's also a human being with a past and reasons to question her orders.

If you like cinematic spy thrillers with wild fight scenes in unusual places, this book will appeal to you. This is also a book that will appeal to anyone who enjoys a plot that plays off the setting and has a strong sense of place. The characters are smart, competent and believable as well trained operatives. Chandler's dialog and thoughts are sometimes a little harsh, but that works for a tough, trained killer fighting for her survival (and quite a bit more).

This is a hard-boiled sort of story, so my only negative was that it was a bit more explicit than I needed to get the story across in places. It probably works fine if that's your thing.

Next time I'm in Long Island, remind me not to drink the water.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXPOSED is EXPLOSIVE! October 4, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you liked FLEE you're going to love EXPOSED.

It's a thrill readers thriller. It's action is non-stop and over-the-top. It's fast, explosive and Chandler is one of the sexiest heroines I've ever read. Don't miss it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fasten Your Seat Belt October 7, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
My thanks to JA Konrath, aka Jack Kilborn, and Ann Voss Peterson for their latest thriller Exposed, an appropriately named action-packed novella that kept me riveted from the first page to the last with an intriguing, well-written plot. Exposed was my first experience with the phenomenal Agent Chandler whom I now want to be when I grow up. My only complaint is I wanted more but that's why best-selling authors write even better sequels.

5.0 out of 5 stars ACTION PACKED! October 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Chandler is totally bad ass. She kicks ass and takes names later. The story is very fast paced with a very humanizing twist with the mission. If you're not saying "awww" at the end then you don't have a human bone in your body. This is a very good prequel to the Chandler series.

5.0 out of 5 stars I cannot get enough of this series! April 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The second in Codename: Chandler series. I LOVE this series. It's my favorite. This novella is just long enough for me to think, are you sure it's a novella? Which is awesome.

This is about Chandler before she had to Flee. Which was the first book in her series. So this was before all of that happened. Gives us a glimpse into what she had to do for her country and lets us into what the kind of person she is.

Trained for deadly tasks she is rushed into an operation to save a girl from a sex traffic ring. Some things don't start to add up for her and soon she realizes things are not exactly what they seem to be.

Full of suspense, exciting fast-paced action, and balanced out by some fun, some sadness and even a little bit of loving. I couldn't ask for more from a story. It has everything. Plus, a kick-a** heroine. I love it and can't wait for more in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Konrath + Peterson = MUST READ March 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a great little Tide-Me-Over while I wait for the true sequel to FLEE, which they say will be called SPREE.

EXPOSED takes place before FLEE, and is a non-stop thrill ride that doesn't pull any punches. I'm all about character development, even in shorts and novellas, and these authors know how to bring their characters to life quickly and thoroughly. Chandler is such a bad-ass, yet she's as human as you and me. Great and entertaining over-the-top action.

4.0 out of 5 stars Non-stop Action October 24, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Exposed was non-stop action. It is a thriller, which isn't what I usually read. Lots of violence, at times gratuitous. Gritty characters -- and a really badass point of view character in Chandler. This novella definitely got me interested in the other Chandler books. The close calls and plot developments really kept the book moving straight through. It was also a good book to share with my husband. Our reading tastes don't often overlap, but we had fun racing each other through this one.

Chandler is my second favorite assassin/spy bad ass, next to John Rain. I can't wait for the follow up novel, Spree to come out.

I like story lines where the main character is a strong female.
What I didn't like was the story was too short.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Short Story...
I liked this short story, but I got it when it was free...not sure I'd want to pay $2.99 for it. I would certainly make sure you like the author's work before spending that.

I liked this book, but I was a little confused with the opening and how it fit the book. I had to read it again before I realized who was who. Good action and good plot!
