2.0 out of 5 stars Ironic
Rick Godwin's preaching is certainly for the more practical as opposed to the more stern or sentimental. But what has caught me is that he wrote this book and in 2007, it became widely known he was using church funds for private jets, expensive hotels, vacations, gifts, etc. Same as Pastor John Hagee preaching against divorce and he was messing with his church secretary...

As a Pastor I am ordering several more copies to give as required reading in our church. Godwin deals with the spiritual root of the outward expression of people in church . This is not a novel or romantic book for casual reading. If you always wondered why certain people you know act like they do , you will find excellent insight from this seasoned minister of the Gospel.

No it is not about witches and brooms and cauldrons , but it is about manipulation and control and power seeking people and how to deal with them in your church and your personal life.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very timely, informative, and on target resource., November 30, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Exposing Witchcraft in The Church (Paperback)
For those who haven't read it and think (or expect) this book is about witches and either true or fictional witch related stories ...wrong!

It is a book about witchcraft though! It's about the kind of witchcraft that happenens in Christ professing, evangelical, "we don't have that kind of thing happening in our church" churches.

Anyone who thinks that their church is immune to this type of situation should read it. Anyone who wonders why there always seems to be division, disunity, and conflict in their church should read this book. Anyone who wonders why their church just seems to be "spinning its wheels but not going anywhere" should read this book. Anyone in a position of leadership, authority, or influence in a church should make a point of reading this book.

Anyone who thinks that the words "manipulate" "dominate" and "intimidate" have an strangely familiar ring to them - in relation to activities in their church should definitely read this book!

I haven't read this book, so I give two stars (I have to rate it in order for this to be seen online!)

wonderful book, powerful insight into the spiritual hindrances people in the church deal with and operate in at times. A great learning tool for the church to add to their knowledge to discern spirits the enemy has a hold on and how to get them out of the church.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book, April 15, 2008

This review is from: Exposing Witchcraft in The Church (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book on a topic you rarely hear discussed or taught about in the church. It will help you recognize spirits of witchcraft in operation and their roots, and know how to respond. Examples even in family relationships were given that were very helpful. This book is written in a very positive and encouraging way considering the subject matter. Highly recommended for every Christian.

Exposing Witchcraft in the Church

This book was an eye opener! I did not know that control, manipulation and intimidation were forms of witchcraft--and that it had generational implications.

As I read this book, I got my family free and myself from these demonic influences. Godwin opens the eyes of the reader which when opened it can't be closed again. You start to see the subtle workings of the enemy in the church, your home, your job, and your relationships.

The choice as to whether or not you keep operating in witchcraft is your choice...but it is far better to live a life of freedom in Jesus.

Godwin also points out in his book the God ordained way for promotion. Which goes contrary to what society says and how many churches operate. Earthly promotion is temporary...but God's promotion is eternal.

You may not think that you work witchcraft or were ever under its control but when you read how works, legalism, and trusting in the flesh can cause you to walk in witchcraft you will have a new appreciation for what Christ did on the cross.

If you want to reign with power...if you want to reclaim what the enemy has stolen from you...if you want to live a life of freedom and victory...get a copy of this book today!

4.0 out of 5 stars A BOLD EXPOSE OF WHAT MAY BE OCCURING IN THE CHISTIAN CHURCH, August 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Exposing Witchcraft in The Church (Paperback)
Rick Godwin makes a bold statement about the possible influence of witchcraft within the church. Good luck to you, Rick! Whilst this may be the most accurate review of what is happening in the church, it is certainly the hardest for Christians to accept. We tend to think of ourselves as immune to any kind of attack. I think people should read this book with an open mind and start praying - not witch-hunting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Count the Cost before reading, September 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Exposing Witchcraft in The Church (Paperback)
I say 'count the cost' because this book deals with the most commonplace, serious, and threatening enemies the church faces. If you are not ready to learn about the forces behind church problems, then seek God before buying this book. However, if you are serious about being a Christian Warrior, you MUST read this. (Also: Rebecca Brown's books and those by Francis MacNutt)

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Eye-Opener, July 14, 2000
This review is from: Exposing Witchcraft in The Church (Paperback)
If you are easily intimidated, manipulated or controlled, this book is for you. I was amazed at how often we, unaware, let others have this kind of influence in our lives. I am so thankful to Rick Godwin for writing this book and opening the eyes of our understanding. This book is definately a powerful tool to thwart the plans of people who want to control, manipulate, or intimidate you.

5.0 out of 5 stars exposing witchcraft in the church, November 25, 2003

This review is from: Exposing Witchcraft in The Church (Paperback)
I think that the book is very informative. The only people that say that it is not represent the puppet on the strings on the cover of this book. I think a lot of times we come into a relationship with God with some of the habits of the world still in us and we need books like this one as a form of correction. The bible saids that my people perish for lack of knowledge.
