I just purchased this Bible and it's so easy to read and understand. I have another study Bible that has the study portion on the bottom and seperate on each page from the Bible verses on the top. That makes it much harder to read because you're going from top to bottom constantly and losing your place. I purchased the large print edition which is great. It's made of a higher quality paper that you can highlight in without it going through the pages. If you want a Pastors understanding of verses as you read or if buying as a gift for a new Christian to help them along, either way this is a great study Bible.
God Bless

I have had an Expositor's Study Bible for 8 years. It is fantastic! I have given one to my son, grandmother and several friends. The Word of God is explained from Genesis to Revelation with an total emphasis on Jesus Christ, it shows how the entire Bible is focused and pointing toward Jesus. Truly, Jesus is the living Word of God, it is a blessing to see Him in every passage.
I would recommend this study Bible to anyone who seeks to know the Lord better and understand His promises more fully.

THE EXPOSITOR'S STUDY BIBLE (ESB)IS ONE OF A KIND!!

I believe this Bible has been anointed and set apart from all others by the Holy Spirit! There are a number of good Study Bibles out there and I have copies of most of them but this one is different. The study notes are embedded in the Scriptural text in brackets with italic red print. No more searching all over the place trying to find the notes! The Scriptural text itself is printed in bold black print making it easy to read the Scriptures without the notes when desired.

The notes are more interpretation/application oriented although they do offer some technical and cultural information. They focus on Jesus Christ and the Cross from Genesis to Revelation...as John 5:39 says they should. Although they come from a Pentecostal perspective, they are completely evangelical and suitable for all believers. The primary annotator is Jimmy Swaggart which may cause some people concern due to his publicly exposed sins of the 1980's which he has repented of. However, for those who find this a stumbling block, you might have trouble with the book of Psalms in any Bible due to David's sin with Bathsheba! I would rather judge the ESB on its own merit. The ESB uses a mildly updated King James Version which is a literal, powerful translation. It's notes are illuminating and frankly, it is hard to put this Bible down!

Regarding the physical features of the ESB, this review focusses on the Hardcover edition which is durable but not Smyth Sewn. This is the best printed Bible I have come across and I find it amazing that all the big Bible publishers are not able to use the same quality bold font.

This is a popular Bible promoted by Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. It comes in many editions, and the Crossfire is especially directed to young people. Its "youth" appeal is some brief articles in the midst of the text which address topics as beng baptized in the Holy Spirit, the Rapture, homosexuality, and being free from sin, along with some drawings (which are reminiscent of cartoons by Jack Chick, which are controversial, to say the least). The Expositors Bible is used exclusively on Swaggart ministry forums, programs, and discussions. Directly following the verse is its interpretation (by Swaggart and his team). This is unique among study Bibles. This is the only one that I am aware of which has the interpretation in the text. This can be positive or negative--positive, in that it tells you what the verse means (or what the authors think it means), but it can be negative in that the interpretations (printed in red italic) can be distracting to the reader. To me, one of the joys of Bible study is to gain insights from the text, to let it speak to me. It can be cumbersome if the interpretation is instantly provided. (How can we learn is all the answers are given?) I would recommend this BIble, however. The interpretations do include factual details that can be helpful to the reader. The interpretations can be used as a guide, even though a reader is still able to make his-her own conclusions.

This is the best Bible study guide I have ever ran across. It is a must read for any young person or young at heart. It would also be great for any one working with youth. Thanks be to God and His Son, Jesus for the Swaggart family. The Expositor's Study Bible (Crossfire Edition)

It give me a clearer understanding of the Bible. The notes are adjacent to the verses which makes it so much easier to read and understand. The print is ok as well. I have absolutely no regrets purchasing this study Bible . I bought one for my God-daughter also.

I chose this rating because the pages seemed to have been wet at some point. They feel a little awkard when turning the pages. The information was damaged.
