Zip install was contracted to hook up HDTV, XBOX, Cable box, and DVD. I found, and had to fix, several problems after the installation. First, AM antenna hooked up but not FM antenna. Actually, technician did not know the FM antenna was the one supplied with the sound system, nor did he know that the microphone included was used to balance the speakers, and not for singing, as he thought. I also found that two of the speakers had reversed connections to the receiver, so I had to fix that. As far as neatly routing the wires, definitely not really done. Lastly, I tried out the DVD player and could not get any sound from the speakers. It took me a while to straighten that out.
I hired an installer so I would not have to deal with any of the above. The installer was prompt and pleasant, but I am still very disappointed that I had to deal with these problems. I would advise anyone getting their system hooked up to try out everything before the technician leaves. Even if they are not totally familiar with the equipment, they should take the time to check the manuals to be sure everything works correctly.
