Responsive, Fast, Customer-friendly,
This review is from: Zip Express On Wall TV Installation with In-Wall Wire Concealment (Electronics)
I have a 65'' LED HDTV. I bought the TV from Best Buy (which I regret), and I had also arranged for Best Buy to mount it through its Geek Squad (which I really regret). Best Buy moved the date twice on me before I finally cancelled it.When I called Zip, I was immediately connected to Neil, who did a terrific job. He assured me that he would be my point of contact throughout the process (much better than being on hold with Best Buy for hours). He ordered a terrific mount and scheduled the setup for two days later. Now, my TV looks great, and I couldn't be happier.

I can't say enough good things about Zip Express. I did the wall mounting of my new 58" TV myself, but Zip Express did a great job of hiding the wires, despite my mounting the TV over my fireplace. The technicians arrived promptly at the appointed time, they were polite and efficient. They cleaned up after themselves. And, they promised me a partial refund on the work order, which included several tasks I had done myself. I can't thank Andre, and his management, enough for the effort they put into getting me the promised refund, despite some difficult administrative hurdles to handling this kind of situation. You won't go wrong getting your TV installation work from Zip Express. And, their pricing and customer service are unbeatable. A very very satisfied customer, Joel Bastow

Great experience with Zip,

Bought an LG 42" from Amazon, thinking I could do my own install above my fireplace. Once I got the TV and get started, I realized I needed help. I found Zip here on Amazon, and decided to have them do the work. I bought the service on Monday, and got a call from Zip the next day to set up the appointment. My installer called me yesterday to confirm and let me know when he would be here. He showed up this morning on time, and was very courteous and professional. He left about an hour ago, and my new TV is exactly where I wanted it and looks great! Thanks ZIP, and thanks Amazon!

HAPPY WITH JOB,

We just had our 55 inch TV mounted above our fireplace. I was initially very nervous using this company since there were no reviews and I had never heard of them. Since we couldn't find anyone else who could do it all (mounting and electrical stuff) we went with them. I didn't want one company mounting and another doing the electrical work-We love the mounting job that was done- it is level and centered and all wires are concealed behind the wall. My (really nice) technician had to be a bit creative to figure out how to hide the wires do to beams behind our fireplace that blocked access but he was able to do it without making any clean up job for me. I didn't need to do any patch up work to my walls or paint which I was concerned about and they cleaned up after themselves. My technician also ran a wire thru my wall so I could easliy pass a new wire thru in the future. When they were finished they setup my cable for me and explained how the new system worked. I am so happy with the job that they did. One note- if you are going to mount your tv make sure your HDMI cables are long enough. Check online for best prices.

These guys are VERY responsive!,

I had an installation done by these guys and I was impressed by how responsive they were. They were very flexible in scheduling the appointment and I did not have to wait long at all to get an appointment (I got an appointment exactly when I wanted -- 10-12 on a Saturday morning). The installer was polite and professional. There was one small mistake on the initial visit which I e-mailed the Zip people to complain about. I was pleasantly surprised that I received both an e-mail and friendly, earnest phone call the same day (it was a Sunday even!). Within two days, the installer was back to fix the problem. He wasn't cranky about it at all -- he apologized for the mistake, did a great job of addressing the issue, and I'm very happy with the whole thing. My attitude is that mistakes are going to happen -- we're all human. What really separates the great companies from everyone else is how they handle their mistakes. These guys worked hard to earn my business, and I'm doubly impressed that they did it while charging such a low price. In a way, I'm almost glad that this little mistake was made, because it showed me how this company handles adversity -- they handle it well. Very impressive!

My installer (Steve) came to my house last weekend and did a great job. I wanted to make sure he gets recognition as I'm disabled and he was able to do everything just the way I wanted. I thought this was a great deal and I have recommended him to my cousin who is looking to do the same thing at his house.

The Boys at Zip,

The boys at Zip are Top-Notch!!! But first, a story. When I originally called to discuss the possible installation of my 46" Samsung the boys at Zip had plenty of questions. We went through exactly what it was that I was trying to do (ie - wall mount my TV in the bedroom with all wiring hidden in the walls -- running into an adjacent closet where all components would be hidden, etc. etc.) After about 20 minutes on the phone Zip and I agreed that an in-home consultation wasn't necessary. That decision would prove to be a mistake. The two men who came to my home to do the install were great; fast, efficient, very knowledgeable and didn't leave a mess. The problem was they couldn't finish the job. The problem had to do with electricity; the two installers told me that I needed another electrical outlet in my closet to finish the job. (When I schedule my install with Zip and we discussed the job they felt that an in-home consult wasnt necessary given my desired set-up.) NOT HAPPY!!! So -- I called Zip (while the two installers were still working). I explained to the guy who answered the phone that the reason I was so bent out of shape was that if had known that I needed an electrician I would have had one out to the house before Zip. Now I needed to find an electrician on very short notice to complete the work within the next 24hrs because I had an AT&T U-Verse install scheduled for the very next day!!! (I had discussed this with Zip when I originally called in. Side note -- have you ever called an electrician and said, "I need you at my house today. What will that cost?") Very quickly my call was forwarded to "John" at Zip. He read through all of the notes on my account from the day I originally placed my order. He quickly agreed with me that given my set-up Zip should have advised that I would need an electrician or at the very least insisted on an in-home consult prior to installation -- during which they surely would have spotted the problem. John apologized profusely for the inconvenience and then asked what he could do to make it right. Rarely does anyone in customer service ever even ask that question anymore let alone put their money where their mouth is. John did both. By the time I got off the phone with John (less than 10 minutes total) I was completely satisfied. Sure I'm not happy that I had to go out and get an electrician but John made sure that I wasn't burdened with that cost and they made sure that I felt compensated for the inconvenience. Kudos to John and The boys at Zip. They admitted their mistake and fixed what needed to be fixed -AND- they did it quickly -- without me ever having to even raise my voice. Can you really ask for more than that? Just one word to the wise; get the free, in-home consultation. |
