This is definitely one of the more well written and illustrated books on the subject of outdoor watercolor. The illusrations are profuse, delicate, and inspiring to an artist who wishes to create mood, and to put a very personal feeling into his or her work. The book comes in a light blue/green cloth cover with expensively produced reproductions and printing. American born, Hilder studied in England and had his first award at age 18 from the Royal Academy. His life is a study in itself. If you buy the book you'll find his unique photograph and artist's resume capsulized inside back of Dust Jacket.

Beware the Title.,

Prospective purchasers should note that this book is identical in content to "Painting Landscapes in Watercolout" published by Collins in the UK. I bought it assuming it to be a book I hadn't already got but I was wrong. I now have two copies. Only the titles differ.
