5.0 out of 5 stars Exquisite Interceptors
This book is filled to the rim with fun and challenging planes!
The person before me that wrote a rewiew does not know how to fold these wonderful planes. I can succesfully fold all of them, and to mention they fly like a charm! So if you are having difficulty folding these planes, Try using a different sheet of paper or adjusting. You`ll get it sooner or later!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so easy...
Don't be fooled - these are not easy airplanes to make well!

I'm not a skiled origami artist, but I can fold most paper airplanes with great precision. The planes in this book lean more toward origami than functional paper airplanes.

The planes do look cool, but they're not the best performers in terms of flight.

To be fair, I'm not convinced that I've folded...

Don't be fooled - these are not easy airplanes to make well!

I'm not a skiled origami artist, but I can fold most paper airplanes with great precision. The planes in this book lean more toward origami than functional paper airplanes.

The planes do look cool, but they're not the best performers in terms of flight.

To be fair, I'm not convinced that I've folded them well enough to really judge how well they should fly, but many of them have very small wings...

The planes do not require any cutting or glue, but they do need tape.

Another thing to note is that most of the planes require a ruler to find the location of the fold. There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but I personally prefer to be able to just grab a piece of paper and turn it into a great flyer with no other tools.

Bottom line: if you want cool looking planes from a single uncut piece of paper, this book is for you. If you want great flyers, you may want to go elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXQUISITE Indeed, April 16, 2010

EXQUISITE INTERCEPTORS, the other book by Thay Yang, is quite the folding manual for origami planes! I don't mind the ruler and the measuring. the planes come out super and after some practice, fly quite well. I'm well above kid age and I enjoy making them! they look even better with 2-tone paper, and I even made them with 11 x 17 paper! Thay, you knocked it out the park with this book!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good instructions for good looking planes, May 10, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Exquisite Interceptors (Paperback)
VERY complicated folding, pretty complete instructions, neat looking results that sorta fly OK, usually. I think how complicated the folding is makes the resulting plane heavy with less wing surface area, so they tend to drop pretty fast. Also, very hard to fold perfectly, and repeated small errors accumulate to make an asymmetrical plane that veers to one side or spins and goes down.

5.0 out of 5 stars great, challenging origami planes, January 26, 2005
This review is from: Exquisite Interceptors (Paperback)
These are definitely more than 'normal' paper airplanes. You MUST know origami, and rather well, to make the majority of these planes - which is exactly why I love it! There are almost no other books out there like this. If you are up to the challenge, the planes look awesome (they look like REAL planes!) when made correctly and fly pretty well.
