Thermometer works good
very good item, it work very good on all situations very accurate. 5 months working without problem. you can switch farencheit or centigrades easy. i use it also to read the temperaturte of my baby just to check accuracy against other mercury thermometer and is perfect. i use it everywhere, cooking, outdoor, on my shop..

could be better
Has trouble seeing temperatures on smaller objects (1/2" pipe @ 120F as an example displayed 85F). Easy readings and accurate to calibrated thermometers on objects of 1" or larger. Expected better for the price.

Great for the sale price. Would not pay the $ 169.99 however. Item appears to work well. Nicely crafted. No settings as previously expected. Overall a great item

I test the Extech 42549 High Temperature every thing they are work far. I like it. Great product!!
