4.0 out of 5 stars Would I buy it again?, September 27, 2007
This review is from: Extech 42545 58 Degree to 1832 Degree Farenheit and -50 Degree to 1000 Degree Celsius Infrared Thermometer (Tools & Home Improvement)
Yes. While the emissivity setting can affect the displayed temperature, the unit is fairly accurate. However, the unit appears to have a built in temperature compensation unit. I used the unit outside in 95-degree weather and when I took it inside to measure the air conditioning register discharge temperature, it was way off. After about fifteen minutes, it was accurate again.
