I bought this item a little less than 2 months ago, and initially it worked very well. However, as it had happened before with oh-so-many items purchased online, in a short while it just (partially) died.

The conductivity measurement circuit is still OK, but the pH capability is completely kaput. It won't calibrate and, irrespective of what sample it is immersed into (including the 4.0, 7.0 and 10.0 standard solutions), the reading fluctuates between 4.66 and 4.73.

Yes, I know how to handle pH meters. I didn't drop it ... or allowed the sensor to dry out ... or abused it otherwise. But I did use it many times every day for work. It looks like these are designed to last for maybe 500-1,000 measurements before going to the pH-Sensor heaven.

Even 3-5 years ago these stick meters were great professional instruments - they were reasonably accurate, and lasted for years. Not these days.

I use this to do spot water quality tests on the water coming from the private well that feeds my home. For the most part, it's easy to use and is as accurate as any tests I've tried. TDS, Salinity, ph and conductivity are easily determined from a single test sample in under five minutes. Of course, it would be ideal is the unit could also test for additional contaminants (iron, nitrates, chlorine, etc), but for what it offers, this is a great probe that gives you a quick understanding of whether you've had any changes to your water quality.

Definitely a good way to get started with water quality testing.

Good, economical multifunction meter for the monthly stream sampling that I do. Temp, PH, DO, TDS, Conductivity. Typically have to go to multiple, more expensive meters to get all of these functions.

Not very accurate, I tried calibrating it and still has inaccurate readings (+/- 2.5). I compared it with Myron L Ultrameter II
