For greater convenience, the unit comes with a multi-position tilt stand, a Velcro strap for hanging, and a protective holster with handy test lead holder. CAT III test leads are included.
Built-In Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer
Find hot spots quickly and safely, even when they're invisible, with the built-in non-contact infrared thermometer. The convenient thermometer has no cables or probes to connect, break, or lose. Just point and shoot, and you get the results in seconds. The laser pointer helps you make sure that the invisible problem spots you're measuring line up exactly with what you can see. The thermometer has an eight-to-one distance to target ratio, allowing measurements in areas that are normally difficult or unsafe to reach.
True RMS Prevents Distortion from Electronic Devices
It can be very difficult to make accurate current and voltage readings in industrial and commercial applications when electronic devices are present. Fluorescent lights, motor drives, computer power supplies, and other electronic systems can distort the AC waveform, making it hard for averaging meters to get an accurate read. True RMS uses a more advanced formula to compensate for this kind of distortion.
Backlit LCD Screen For Clear Reading
Readings on the EX450 are displayed on a large, backlit LCD screen with easy-to-read, 1-inch-tall digits. The 2,000-count screen offers high resolution over wide ranges, and features data hold to "freeze" information on the screen for longer viewing. To preserve your batteries, the unit also features an auto power-off.
Durable, Comfortable Body with Useful Accessories
This meter is ergonomically designed and weighs less than 1 pound, so it offers a comfortable grip for one-handed operation. It measures a slim 7-2/5 by 3-1/5 by 2 inches (H x W x D), and uses one 9-volt battery.
Product and Warranty Information
The Extech EX450 Eight-Function True RMS Professional MultiMeter is backed by a manufacturer's three-year limited warranty on parts and labor. The multimeter is UL and CE listed.

Power saver too quick and not well thought out,

This review is from: Extech EX450 True RMS Autoranging Multimeter with Infrared Thermometer (Tools & Home Improvement)
The meter seems to work fine in most things I've tried in the week I've had it, but one thing really annoys me. The power saver turns it off only 15 minutes after you turn it on. It would be acceptable if it turned itself off 15 minutes after the last electrical activity, but no, it is 15 minutes after you turn it on. I often need to make measurements over a period of time longer than that and really don't appreciate it shutting down without warning in the middle of a measurement. I would be much happier with a shorter battery life and a longer time before shutdown. It's only an inexpensive standard 9V battery.

Not so Accurate turn-off meter,

This review is from: Extech EX450 True RMS Autoranging Multimeter with Infrared Thermometer (Tools & Home Improvement)
The Extech is more than annoying with its 15 min auto turn-off, it is dangerous when working on 440V equipment and I really need to know if a given circuit is alive or not. I use a non-contact Fluke tester to back me up, but still I also need to monitor voltage for longer than 15 frigging minutes. Also, the voltage readings lie, the DC voltage will read 15V when it is really 13.8 via two other meters, but other times it will read correctly, etc. Just not a reliable or good meter. Also don't like its HOLD feature which tends to get pushed and then it stays on whatever voltage was there which may not be the current voltage. I am looking for a better meter without such nasty quirks. I even use a little $4 meter for some things now, as it is more reliable that this POS meter.
