I used to wonder why people were always talking about how hard it was to scratch your back. Now I'm a little older and I'm one of them. This little gadget is perfect. It telescopes, so it doesn't take up much room. I bought four; three for the house and one for my desk at work. I love it and the price was great, too. They only have two problems that I've found: The place where the scratcher connects to the handle is a little weak and would probably break easily if you moved it back and forth a little. Also, the end of the handle has a clip, like an inkpen, to clip to a pocket. The whole assembly screws on and I've found mine coming unscrewed several times. If it came all the way undone, you could lose some of the parts. But it could be glued if it really became a problem.

I've had telescoping back scratchers before. The previous lasted 2 and 1/2 years until I accidentally broke it when I left it on the bed and knelt on it. I ordered this one month ago and it was too flimsy to use properly. On first use the head immediately started to bend. Now one month later, the midsection bent and broke while trying to use it. If it can't do the job it's created to do, then it's just a worthless piece of metal. There are better, stronger ones out there that I highly recommend. This one not so much.

I had gotten one similar to this for my sister at Christmas. The rest of the females in my family were clearly envious, so I found these to make up to them. Much better.
