I just wanted to leave an update on this item because of the review above. First it does make the case thicker, much thicker... but anyone who didnt know going from a 1100mah battery to a 2300 mah battery should know it will be a thicker battery. Also, the thicker battery is actually nicer to hold when you have the keyboard open.

Next the battery life is insane. I would say it lasted about 8 hours of normal use, and 4 hours with normal use before the new battery. Now it lasts about 30 hours of normal use and at least 10 hours of heavy use. It is great!

The other batteries are going for 50$, so it was strange for me to buy one for 20, i figured there would be a reason for that, but currently it is working great and lasts a long time.

The shipping also beat out my amazon order. Can't beat it!

After reading a few reviews, I was thinking that maybe this wasn't the best thing in the world. I didn't really think it would meet my expectations. Well, let me tell you. It met and SURPASSED my expectations!

My current battery did not make it even 5-6 hours through the day without charging. I wanted my G1 to last me throughout the ENTIRE DAY without a single charge. So when I received the new battery I took it to the test.

I fully charged it overnight and removed it from the charger at 7:00am. I repeatedly used it to check Facebook, Twitter, e-mails, and text messages. I also downloaded a few things from the market, played a game or 2, and uninstalled a few things. I did a little of browsing too. I hit 50% at 2:00pm. When I got home, I don't do much with it since I have access to a computer, so it was pretty idle all night. I checked it at 11:00pm and it was at 20%! I was SO AMAZED!

I will say that the additional cover increases the size of the phone about a half of a centimeter. Wasn't a HUGE difference to me. It's comparable to a Sidekick 2 (if you owned one). Even made typing more comfortable.

So in conclusion, if you want more then DOUBLE the battery life, this product is definitely what you are looking for. And for the price of $20, it just doesn't get any better than this! :D

I have a G1 since october 2008. Since i bought it, i was in pain with the battery life, it would last the whole day without using it too much. After a year, it just lasted half of day, thats it, and i began to shutdown by itself. I found rhis battery and i had to try it. Now i think i have the perfect cellphone! The batteru last all day, with heavy use every hour, cehkcing Emails, Twitter, Facebook, downloading apps, taking pictures, Google talk, even using Pandora to listen music for over an hour. At the end of the day, the battery could be about 25%. An it is a real 25 %!...

If you have a G1, U HAVE TO HAVE THIS BATTERY!...

The only tyhing that bothers me, is that the camera lens, gets dirty a lot easier, but i can leave with that!

So just right off the bat this battery will make your phone thicker, alot thicker. Yet with the new thickness it makes the phone feel more stable in your hands, it feels more natural now when you open the keyboard to type. So far I'm extremely happy with my battery performance now, it last longer than it did before on stand by and even longer with heavy use! the only down side I see to it is that since it requires a new back plate (which it comes with) it makes the tiny speaker on the back loose some volume, that can be a problem; so all your music and ringtones sound muffled but other than that its still a great buy I highly recommend it.

My G1 battery life use to be horrible. Starting with a full charge in the morning, I'd make regular calls through the day (normal use, maybe 10 calls, a few minutes a piece) and maybe 20 minutes of game or app use, and the battery would be in the red by the time I went to bed. With this battery, I can talk/game/app as much as I want throughout the day, and I'm usually still in the green.

The thicker battery/new backshell does increase the thickness and weight a bit, but it still fits comfortably in the pouch that comes with the G1, and gives a much firmer feel when texting, which is great! I'm so glad I bought this battery!

**update** While I still think this is a good product, the included cover has proven to be less durable than the stock battery cover, and this one has cracked all the way across with normal use. Company's response was that I'd have to purchase a new battery in order to replace the cover, which I did, through a different seller. I was able to find another battery/cover combo for the same price it would have cost to just buy a cover.

I've owned this for about a week. The battery itself is great. I no longer need to worry about keeping my G1 charged up.

I was worried about the increased size of the phone with the "bulge" due to the larger battery cover. I have been happily pleased. I now find it easier to hold my G1 as an actual phone. It used to feel a bit clumsy in my hand when I held it up to my ear. Now it feels very solid in my hand. It has been negligible in terms of increased bulk in my pocket.

I highly recommend.

My OEM battery died (it got "puffy" and lasts for about a minute now), so I needed a replacement battery. As the original battery life was still not great, I decided to spring for the extended battery.

That was a good choice. The phone is a bit thicker, but that's not really a problem for me. And the extra battery life is definitely worth it. Even with heavy WiFi usage, it lasted all day and then some. I'd say, regular usage, no reason it shouldn't last a few days at least. (My original battery, brand new: 5 hours w/ 3G.)

I used to have to carry a charger around everywhere and hunt for plugs in restaurants, office buildings, etc. It was really annoying. This battery, so far, is working great.

What an Amazing Battery! My original G1 Battery wouldn't last 4 hours, when used heavily. It had to be constantly put on the charger. This Battery lasts a full day with the same usage, and two days on standby, and normal talking on the cell. Love it! Now my G1 is more useful than ever. I can even Navigate using Google Maps, and not worry about Battery Life. Amazing!
Yes, my G1 is now a bit thicker, and heavier, but who cares! It now is faster connecting to everything, and lasts a whole day!

I highly recommend this Battery for people who use their G1 as it was intended. A Computer in your Pocket!

Before getting this battery, I had to keep a spare charger on my desk at work, a charger in my car, another charger next to the couch at home, and a fourth charger on my night stand. Since getting this high capacity battery, one night's charge is more than enough to get through a day of using my G1 for calls (with a Bluetooth device), web browsing (via 3G on the road and WiFi at home), playing music and podcasts (via Bluetooth) as well as playing a few hands of Solitaire. After all that, I still have 30 to 40% remaining on my battery at the end of the day. My only regret is that I didn't purchase this battery sooner.

I am a heavy phone user and this battery last me all day. Apps and all.
