Editorial Reviews

Cheatahs, present this compilation of their two 2012 EPs. The sound recalls the glory days of Shoegaze (Swervedriver, My Bloody Valentine, The Boo Radleys etc.), but with a level of songcraft so many of their contemporaries lack. Both EPs were recorded in London by the band's bassplayer, Dean Reid and mixed by Dean and the band. Cheatahs tour North America with friends and fellow Londoners, Veronica Falls, in March.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like Swervedriver you'll love this February 18, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I'll keep it short and sweet here: if you have heard Swervedriver and like them, buy this record. They are the closest thing to Swervedriver I've ever heard. And that is a very good thing. 8 songs of driving guitar songs that sound a whole lot like summer.

And if you haven't heard Swervedriver, drop everything and go buy the remastered versions of Raise and Mezcalhead right now. You'll thank me later.

So good... Guitars, guitars and more guitars. 8 songs - 4 from each of their 1st two EPs... No filler. Every song rocks!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Sounds May 2, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
I was made aware of this group by watching an early morning sports show only shown in the UK over the internet (Soccer AM on Sky Sports) - they played their single "The Swan" as an accompaniment to a soccer video montage of goals. Hearing that song alone was enough for me to seek out their album. From front to back this album is rich in rock sounds that have you tapping your toes and dancing in your seat. A true gem of a find. Thanks Soccer AM.

5.0 out of 5 stars First candidate for my Top 10 Albums of 2013 March 21, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
Love this short 'n' sweet album! I wrote a few notes for my Top 10 blog I'll post this December: "Shoegaze but not mopey, lots of guitars but not heavy, bouncy, familiar but fresh, sonically tasty with melodic song structures." A great find!
