This review is from: Extended Ultravox (Audio CD)
Just to let the previous reviewers know, some of the earlier Ultravox songs were not released in remixed or extended form back in the eighties. For instance, I have Vienna on 12" vinyl and it is just the same as the album version and therefore wouldn't be appropriate to be added to a CD called Extended Ulravox.

Excellent track list--just would have preferred a couple of alternate mixes, December 18, 2009
This review is from: Extended Ultravox (Audio CD)
This is predominantly an outstanding collection of all of the Midge Ure years Ultravox 12" singles. However, several of their songs were released with different 12" mixes in different countries. That being said, the versions of Dancing with Tears in My Eyes and One Small Day on here are, I feel, inferior to the mixes I have back-to-back on the U.S. vinyl 12" single. Both versions presented on this CD are excessively choppy and chaotically edited. The U.S. mixes are both much smoother, (Steve Thompson mix of Dancing, Francois Kevorkian mix of One Small Day) and much fuller sounding. Unfortunately, I have yet to find either of those mixes on CD to this day. Track times for this disc:
1. All Stood Still (12" Version) (5:05)
2. Reap The Wild Wind (Extended Version) (4:43)
3. We Came To Dance (Extended Version) (7:35)
4. Serenade (Special Re-mix) (6:01)
5. One Small Day (Special Re-mix) (7:48)
6. Dancing With Tears In My Eyes (Special Re-mix) (9:59)
7. Lament (Extended Mix) (8:01)
8. Love's Great Adventure (Extended Version) (5:40)
9. Same Old Story (Extended Version) (6:57)
10. All Fall Down (Extended Mix) (7:41)

not just longer!, February 25, 2011

Well, first of all, you really have to LOVE Ultravox. They can be noisy and screechy and are not for everyone. These aren't just dragged-out, spaced-out, drum-machined-out extensions of some of their best songs, but actually welcome prolongations. "Extended" gives you more to love.
